Abstract:
The study presents the results of a survey of the psychological characteristics of the common
cultural practices in Bulgarian organizations. The research is based on Hofstede’s theoretical and
empirical model and was conducted during the period 2007-2010. Participants are 881 employees
working in Bulgarian private companies. The results of the research give an opportunity to create
a three-dimensional model of the common cultural practices which have a significant influence on
the management of organizational culture. The findings describe the common cultural practices in
Bulgarian organizations as supporting high power distance, individualistic models of behavior, and
strong uncertainty avoidance.
