| Abstract: | The paper reflects upon the socialist legacy in the Bulgarian historical muse-ums during the period of Transition after 1989. It analyzes the lack of new museum ideology and the dominance of nationalism within the museum institution. Special attention is paid to the lack of the socialist period being exhibited as part of the permanent historical exhibitions. It examines the formal transformation of the mu-seum exhibitions and the missing link to the newly emerged historiography topics. |
