Title: The Human resources in tourism industry in Bulgaria – trends and challenges for new competences

Abstract: Facing modern challenges of the tourism industry, due to new developments in the environment, mainly and with regard to the globalization, the entry of new technologies and changes in consumer behavior the question related to the human resources – their skills and competencies required raises the important issues for the entire business and specifically in Bulgaria. The present paper reviews the main tendencies shaping the business requirements for qualified human resources, thanking into consideration the current state of the labor market in Bulgaria and tourism industry development.
