Title: Introducing New Instruments into Science: An Example from Experimental Economics.
Authors: Mengov, George
Issue Date: 20-Mar-2013
Abstract: This chapter comprises a tutorial for young researches who try to orient themselves in the field of scientific methods and instruments. We gave an example how introducing a new instrument from psychology augments our understanding of an economic process. Traditionally the economists do not include emotions in their analysis. In this case an input from psychology in the form of a psychometric scale for assessment of satisfaction and disappointment raised substantially the adequacy of an explanatory model. That result might be important not only for scientific research but also for potential business applications.
