"Средната класа": между "производството" и "потреблението" на житейски шансове

Abstract

Paper presents, on the background of a discussion on prerequisites for “classness” and socio-historical construction of “class”, a conceptual framework for sociological understanding of possibility conditions for middle class emergence and evolvement as a “producer” of life chances. Several socio-economic processes are discussed that engender the middle class’ shifts towards life chances “consumption” and back to their “production”.
