Abstract:
The article presents a diagnostic of the issues which teachers in sociology departments identify in the BA and MA degrees in Sociology and shows the logic of these issues. The objectives of the text are to rather exhibit the opinions of the teachers in sociology than critically analyze them. In that sense the goal of the article is to initiate a debate on the difficulties they face and to provoke the search of common solutions. The issues teachers in sociology face are classified in three major groups. Two of them are related to the two sides directly involved in the education in sociology, namely the students and more specifically their level of knowledge when entering the university and their motivation, and the teachers and organization of the pedagogic process. The third group of issues related to a issues rooted in the wider institutional and societal frame of development of the (higher) education.
